As their product range grew, Idoine wanted to move beyond static product pages and offer a guided diagnostic experience that felt immersive, trustworthy, and fully aligned with their brand.
Challenge
Skincare shoppers often struggle to identify the right products, understand how to combine them, and know when to use each one, especially when dealing with specific skin concerns. Generic routines and standard product listings weren’t enough to build confidence or drive conversions.
Idoine needed a solution that could:
- Capture meaningful skin and profile data upfront
- Deliver personalized routines rather than isolated products
- Educate users on how and when to use each product
- Increase conversion and basket value without hurting UX
Solution
Idoine partnered with Quizell to build a highly immersive Skin Diagnosis Quiz, positioned as a core experience on their Shopify store.
Strategic placement for maximum visibility
The quiz is accessible directly from the website header via “Diagnostic de Peau” ("Skin Diagnosis"), placed as the first menu item. This positioning immediately highlights personalization and significantly increases quiz engagement.
Clicking the menu item leads to a dedicated, full-width page where the quiz is embedded, creating a custom, immersive experience that feels native to Idoine’s site.
Clear entry point and structured diagnostic flow
Quiz takers begin by clicking the main CTA — “Start the diagnosis” — which marks the quiz start event in Quizell.
The quiz then collects key information through a structured flow:
- Name
- Email address
- Age bracket
- Gender
- Five skin-specific questions focused on concerns, habits, and needs
This enables Idoine to clearly understand both who the customer is and why they are visiting.
Fully personalized results experience
After the final question, users are redirected to a fully custom results landing page, built specifically for Idoine. All quiz data is passed to this page, enabling deep personalization across:
- Dynamic copy adapted to the user’s skin profile
- Dynamic visuals aligned with their concerns
- Tailored product recommendations
Routine-based product recommendations
Instead of listing products individually, Idoine structured recommendations into three clear routine steps:
- AM products – Essentials designed to cleanse, hydrate, and protect the skin throughout the day
- PM products – Treatments focused on repair, recovery, and targeted care overnight
- HEBDO products – Weekly treatments supporting deeper renewal and long-term results
All recommended products are pre-selected as “Added”, while still allowing users to remove any item. A prominent “Add to basket” CTA at the top adds all selected products to the cart in one click.
To further encourage conversion, Idoine included a 20% quiz-exclusive discount code (QUIZ20) directly beneath the CTA.
Results
Within just one week, the Skin Diagnosis Quiz became a strong performance driver across Idoine’s Shopify store:
- 77% quiz completion rate, showing strong engagement despite a multi-step diagnostic flow
- +38% higher add-to-cart rate, driven by routine-based recommendations and bulk add-to-cart functionality
- +29% increase in conversion rate among quiz-guided shoppers
- x2.5 increase in average basket value, as customers adopted complete AM, PM, and HEBDO routines
