Deux par Deux is a beloved Canadian children’s apparel brand known for high-quality, fashion-forward clothing designed to support kids through every season and stage. With a large product catalog and highly variable sizing needs, parents often seek guidance to quickly find the right pieces for their children.
To elevate the online shopping experience and strengthen parent loyalty, Deux par Deux looked for a solution that personalizes recommendations at the child level, not just the shopper level.
Challenge
Finding the right size, style, and category for growing children can be overwhelming for parents browsing large online catalogs. Deux par Deux needed a solution that allowed visitors to:
- Shop based on each child’s age, size, and needs
- Easily update size or fit preferences as children grow
- Navigate a large product inventory efficiently
- Receive tailored product recommendations that feel curated
- Trigger personalized emails for retention and re-engagement
Their team wanted an advanced, flexible flow: something far beyond a simple quiz. Quizell became the platform that enabled this unique, highly customized experience.
Solution
Deux par Deux partnered with Quizell in 2023 as one of our earliest custom clients, co-designing a personalized shopping journey centered around each child’s profile.
High-intent entry point: “TAKE QUIZ, GET $5”
A dedicated menu item invites parents to take the quiz with an immediate incentive. This call-to-action leads to a full-screen landing page where the quiz is embedded for a distraction-free, immersive experience.
Build-a-child onboarding
Parents can add a new child by entering:
- Child’s name
- Birthday
- Gender
They then select the child’s size, supported by an in-depth size guide available with a single click to help reduce uncertainty and returns.
Account-based personalization
Once the child’s information is submitted, visitors are prompted to:
- Sign up (new customers), or
- Log in (returning customers)
This enables:
- Saving child profiles over time
- Updating sizes as children grow
- Managing multiple children in one account
- Receiving dynamic recommendations that adapt as the child changes
Intelligent product filtering
After onboarding, parents access a personalized dashboard showing Top Picks for each child. Clicking “Top Picks” opens a collection page already filtered to match the child’s exact needs.
For example:
A 3-year-old wearing sizes 3 and 4 produces 292 filtered products from a catalog of 1,531 available, dramatically narrowing the selection and reducing decision fatigue.
Shopify + Klaviyo integration
Deux par Deux uses:
- Shopify integration to sync their full product catalog in real time
- Klaviyo integration to send automated, highly personalized flows whenever:
- A new signup occurs
- A customer returns
- A new child is added (with links to that child’s filtered collection)
- A child’s profile is updated (with refreshed product recommendations)
This creates a deeply personalized lifecycle journey that grows alongside each child.
Results
The personalized child-based shopping experience transformed how parents navigate the Deux par Deux catalog. Their performance metrics reflect both strong engagement and lasting customer value:
- 88% quiz completion rate, exceptionally high for a multi-step, profile-based flow
- 3.4× higher conversion rate among quiz users compared to standard shoppers
- 52% increase in repeat visits, driven by saved child profiles and updated recommendations
- +38% higher add-to-cart rate for shoppers using the personalized child profiles and quiz recommendations
- Significant uplift in email engagement, as parents return through Klaviyo’s targeted flows
